Hi, I’m Athira.
I started with a computer, a lot of curiosity, and plenty of things I didn’t know.
Today, I’m a Principal Engineer at Gilead Digital, but I didn't start there.
I started my career as a Junior Software Developer, learning one project at a time — writing code, breaking things, fixing them, learning from mistakes, and slowly becoming better at understanding not just how to build software, but why it should be built a certain way.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects — e-commerce platforms, ERP systems, custom business applications, healthcare platforms, corporate websites, WordPress solutions, Laravel applications, APIs, dashboards and modern web applications.
My toolbox has grown along the way too — PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, React, Vue.js, Node.js, WordPress, MySQL and more.
But technology is only one part of my journey.
Every project taught me something. Every challenge made me a better engineer. Every team I worked with taught me something new.
Today, I don't just write code. I help understand problems, design solutions, make architectural decisions, guide developers, and turn business ideas into real digital products.
And the best part?
I’m still learning.
Because for me, becoming a better engineer isn't a destination — it's an ongoing journey.
From Learning to Leading
College
Where my curiosity for technology and software development began. College gave me the foundation to explore programming, problem-solving and the world of software.
Junior Developer
My first step into professional software development. I started learning through real projects, solving problems, fixing bugs and understanding how software works in the real world.
Software Developer
I moved from learning the basics to building complete solutions. I worked on custom websites, business applications, databases, e-commerce platforms and other real-world digital products.
Team Lead
My role evolved from writing code to helping others write better code. I began leading developers, coordinating projects and taking greater responsibility for technical delivery.
Senior Software Developer
I started taking on more complex systems and technical challenges, working with Laravel, APIs, databases, architecture and scalable application development.
Development Team Lead
I took on greater ownership of development teams and projects, balancing technical decisions, architecture, delivery and mentoring while working across different technologies and business domains.
Principal Engineer
Today, I work across software architecture, full-stack development, technical leadership and product engineering. I help turn business ideas into reliable digital products while continuing to stay hands-on with technology.
